Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amโ2 pm. San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I donโt write reviews often but Tasty Noodle House was a great experience. The beef brisket noodle soup was very tasty, especially the broth and noodles, my only complaint being that the meat was a bit dry but other than that it was delicious. I also ordered the braised pork belly but didnโt take any pictures of it, it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The staff was also very accommodating and helpful. I mistakenly ordered the wrong thing on accident and they were very understanding and brought over the dish I had meant to order. The food was delivered relatively quick as well, so great service. Definitely a place iโd recommend and return to.

I have not been back since they first opened many years ago. But this week, I have been back twice! If you want photos, go on line to their website. The paper menu is too overwhelming with no photos. They serve Shanghainese cuisine. Itโs great that they offer fresh made dumplings, original dishes and their specialty dishes. We ordered one from each section. Got fried rice, chow mein, ribs, egg plant, Shanghai grilled pork buns, XLB, and pork dumplings. Side of rice is $1. The egg plant would be my favorite dish. They offer three options, we got the one with mushrooms. First time no wait time. The second time we added our name to the tablet. They told us parties of 6 automatically taps on 18% but when I got the tab, that wasnโt the case. Parking is hard to come by in this plaza. First two hours free. Thereโs a paid lot across the street for $4 an hour. Or free street parking.

Trying something new in Convoy and came across with Tasty Noodle House. We ordered Braised Beef Noodle soup and Scallions Beef Noodle. It was delicious to taste. I enjoyed every sip and slurp of it. The order came promptly, hot and fresh. The eatery is clean and tidy, friendly atmosphere, courteous staff, and parking is somewhat limited on peak time. I give this place 4.5 out of 5 star. Good eats. Park

Food was ok. We ordered noodle dishes & couple of appetizers. The noodle dishes were surprising - because it seems they prepared typical Chinese dish & turned them into noodle dish by adding them ๐ We will try their regular dishes next time instead of the noodles.

Tasty Noodle House is packed every time I come, which says a lot about how popular it is for Chinese food, especially Shanghai style dishes. The lighting is decent with a bright, warm tone, but the noise level is noticeably loud. The space echoes quite a bit since there is not much absorbing sound. My daughter commented on how loud it was as soon as we walked in, so families with young kids may want to keep that in mind. The restaurant is pretty clean for a mom and pop style Chinese spot. We ordered the hot and sour soup, Shanghai thick noodles, and dry pot with beef. Everything came out with a dark amber color, likely from dark soy sauce. Portions were generous, but the flavors leaned saltier than my personal preference. Service was quick and friendly. The staff was kind, even offering my daughter a piece of candy, though English is limited. It is family friendly with room for a stroller and plenty of high chairs. Overall, this is a solid, family style Shanghai restaurant meant for sharing dishes. I would return.
